Hamilton, N.Y.—The Colgate men's rowing team hosted the annual Seneca Cup competition against Hobart College this weekend on Lake Morraine. The Raiders claimed the cup for the fifth consecutive time.
In Colgate's varsity boat were coxswain Christopher Monterosso (Staten Island, N.Y.) and rowers Kurt Miller (Devon, Pa.), Sam Walker (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Parker Paulin (Forsyth, Ill.), Mark Robson (Baltimore, Md.), Willie Fox (New Canaan, Conn.), Eddie Gastel (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), James Clinton (Vancouver, Canada), and Peter Leahey (Mercer Island, Wash.). The varsity squad finished the 1,500 meters race two seconds before the Hobart Statesmen with a time of 4:38.
Two Hobart boats and one Colgate boat competed in the JV race. Colgate's JV came in second, two seconds after Hobart, with a time of 4:44. Racing for the Raiders were Gavin Henriquez (Northport, N.Y.), Rob Bickhart (Villanova, Pa.), Kenley Unruh (Ellensberg, Wash.), Matt Woodrow (Glenview, Ill.), Marc Cassone (Plattsburgh, N.Y.), Oliver Jensen (Geneva, Switz.), James Clinton, and Ben Jones (Bryn Mawr, Pa.). Kristen Stonehill (Litchfield, Conn.) coxed in the event. Hobart's second boat finished ten seconds after the Raiders.
