Lalli Tallies Five Goals in Front of Crowd of 10,000 at Mile High Stadium

DENVER, Colo. (6/16/08)—Colgate University’s Matt Lalli ’08 recently announced his presence in Major League Lacrosse with five goals in his second MLL game with the San Francisco Dragons. Lalli was drafted 16th by the Dragons in the recent draft.
 
Lalli tied for the team lead with five points in the loss to the host Denver Outlaws in front of 10,000 fans at Mile High Stadium. The Dragons are 1-3 overall and currently are in third place in the Western Conference.
 
The Major League Lacrosse rookie earned a spot on the Dragons following a stellar career for the Raiders. He was named a third-team All-American as a senior and was a three-time all-Patriot League honoree. Lalli holds the Colgate career record for assists with 95, while his 89 goals is eighth all-time, and his 184 total points is tied for second. He played a crucial role in the Raiders’ run to their first Patriot League title, tying the league’s record for assists in a tournament with seven, including four in the championship game. The Princeton Junction native closed out his career ranked seventh in Patriot League history in both points and assists. Lalli broke the Colgate career assists record with a stellar three-goal and four-assist performance in the Raiders’ monumental win over then No. 2 Syracuse.
 
Lalli and the Dragons will make their season debut on ESPN2 on July 4 at Denver. The game is set for 3:30 p.m. (EST).
