Bucknell Slips by Colgate, 4-3, in Men's Tennis

Martin MacIntyre, the Patriot League Player of the Month, extended his singles win streak to six.
 
HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/5/08) –Bucknell University slipped by Colgate University, 4-3 in Patriot League men’s tennis action on Saturday, April 4 at Abrahamson Courts.
 
The Raiders began the match, taking the doubles point, but could only muster two wins in singles.
 
Junior Martin MacIntyre (Arlington, Va.) and senior Tyler Deck (Newport Beach, Calif.) defeated Ira Reibeisen and Ryan Sanburg, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles.
 
The freshman pair of Phil Bernasek (Fairfield, Conn.) and Ruslan Goussiantnikov (Needham, Mass.) outlasted Ben Young and Mark Malloy in a barn burner at No. 3 doubles, 9-8 (11-9).
 
MacIntyre posted his second win of the afternoon, taking down Reibeisen at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-4. He extends his win streak to six, and is now 10-4 this season at the top spot.
 
At No. 5 singles, sophomore Michael Yassky (New York, N.Y.) defeated Anton Kovic, 6-4, 6-3. Yassky is now 11-3 in dual singles.
 
Colgate moves to 5-9 on the season, and 1-2 in Patriot League play, while Bucknell is now 8-6 and 1-1 in the league.
 
The Raiders will look to rebound tomorrow when they host Fairfield in a non-conference match at noon.
