Hadley, Eachus Receive Weekly Patriot League Football Honors

Greg Hadley was named Patriot League Defensive Player of The Week
HAMILTON, N.Y. (11/3/08) – The Colgate football program was rewarded with two players being named to the weekly Patriot League honors after the Raiders defeated nationally-ranked Lafayette 21-13 Saturday at Andy Kerr Stadium.

Junior linebacker Greg Hadley (Fayetteville, NY/CBA) was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman running back Nate Eachus (Drums, PA/Hazelton HS) was selected as the Rookie of the Week for the third straight time.

Hadley, who also received national honors from the College Sporting News, recorded 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and one forced fumble as Colgate rallied from a 10-0 deficit for the victory over the Leopards.  His forced fumble came on the Colgate five-yard line as Lafayette was trying to extend its 10-0 lead in the third quarter, and led to a Colgate touchdown drive.

Eachus receives his third consecutive Rookie of the Week award after carrying 34 times for 171 yards and two touchdowns.  He scored twice in the second half.  His seven-yard touchdown cut the deficit to 10-7 in the third quarter, and a one-yard score for a 21-13 lead late in the fourth quarter.  Eachus has carried 107 times for 626 yards and eight touchdowns in the last three games.
