HAMILTON, N.Y.  (10/20/08) – Following a five-point effort in a 4-3 victory over Holy Cross, Colgate’s Lauren Carey (Medfield, Mass.) has been designated as the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week for field hockey, it was announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

 

Carey was a key factor in the Raiders coming back from a two-goal deficit versus the Crusaders in the second half.  The senior tallied two goals, including the equalizer at 57:06 which tied the game at 4-4. 

 

With her two goals, she reached her second-consecutive double figures in goals for a season and moved into a tie for second on Colgate’s all-time goal list (32).

 

The Raiders, 9-6 overall,  return to action Saturday for an important Patriot League match-up at Bucknell.  The game is set for a noon start.
