HAMILTON, N.Y. (10/11/08) – Savannah Graybill and Rachel Carney netted goals 52 seconds apart as #20 American downed Colgate 2-0 in Patriot League field hockey action, Saturday morning.
The Eagles, who improved to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in league action, got all they would need at 11:25 as Graybill posted her fourth of the year off a penalty corner from Anne-Meike DeWiljes and Anne Van Erp. American added its final goal at 12:33 as Carney tipped in a shot in front off a penalty corner attempt.

Sarah Pedersen (State College, Pa.) turned aside six shots in the loss, while Eagle netminder Alyssa Poorman went the distance and saved two shots in the shutout.
Colgate, now 8-6 (1-1 in the Patriot League), returns to action next Saturday as it hosts it final home game of the year against Holy Cross. The game is set to start at 1 p.m. at Tyler’s Field.
