Hulme Selected by Boston in NLL Draft

Colin Hulme was selected 71st in the National Lacrosse League Draft.
HAMILTON, N.Y. (9/6/2007)—Colgate University 2007 graduate Colin Hulme (Framingham, Mass.) recently was selected by Boston of the National Lacrosse League in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft held on Sept. 3. Hulme was the 71st pick overall in the draft.
 
Hulme was drafted 16th by San Francisco in the Major League Lacrosse draft in June. He played in nine games and picked up 15 groundballs in his first season with the 4-8 San Francisco Dragons. The 2007 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, Hulme joins 10 other draftees on the 2008 NLL expansion Boston squad.
 
Hulme was one of the most decorated players in Colgate lacrosse history earning honorable mention All-American recognition in 2006 and 2007. He is a two-time all-Patriot League first-team honoree and anchored the Colgate defense in his final three seasons.
 
Hulme started all but one game from 2005-07 and played in 60 career games. He amassed five goals, two assists, and 162 groundballs during his four seasons. Hulme, along with six other seniors, posted a career record of 37-23, which ranks second all-time in wins and second in win percentage (.617). He also was selected to play in the annual USILA North South Classic.
 
He recently was hired as the assistant coach for the Holy Cross men’s lacrosse team. The Crusaders finished the 2007 season 6-8 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
 
The National Lacrosse League is North America's professional indoor lacrosse league. The NLL has thirteen teams with each team playing a 16-game regular season schedule that begins in December and runs through April.
