Cappuccio Makes Career-High Eight Saves in 0-0 Tie with UNH

Former Colgate men's soccer players were on hand to cheer on the Raiders for men's soccer alumni weekend.

HAMILTON, N.Y. (9/22/07) – Junior goalkeeper David Cappuccio (Pittsford, N.Y.) made a career-high eight saves as the Colgate University men’s soccer team played to a scoreless tie with the University of New Hampshire, on Saturday, Sept. 22 during men’s soccer alumni weekend.

It was Cappuccio’s third shutout of the season and 11th overall. His eight saves broke his previous game-high record of seven saves, which came against Philadelphia in 2005.

It was back and forth throughout the game with shots being even in each half, 6-6 in the first and 5-5 in the second. Both teams put together three shots in the overtime sessions but neither team could capitalize on its efforts.

Mike Jenne stopped three shots for New Hampshire.

The Wildcats won the corner kick battle, 8-2, and fouls were even at 15 apiece.

Colgate (3-3-1) hosts Vermont on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.
