Colgate's McDonald '00 Leads Anaheim to Stanley Cup Win

Former Raider Andy McDonald '00 hoisted the Stanley Cup after helping Anaheim to a 4-1 series win against Ottawa.

HAMILTON, N.Y. (6/7/07) - Former Colgate University hockey player Andy McDonald '00 became the first former Raider to win the NHL's Stanley Cup as a player when the Anaheim Ducks clinched the best-of-7 finals series with a 6-2 win against Ottawa on Wednesday, June 6.

McDonald's two goals and an assist in Anaheim's Game 4 win in Ottawa gave the Ducks the chance to hoist the Cup on home ice Wednesday. With 10 playoff goals, McDonald finished the playoffs as the NHL's second-leading goal scorer, and he was fourth on the Ducks with 14 playoff points; he had five goals and seven points during the finals.
