CAMDEN, N.J. (6/2/07) – The Colgate men’s rowing team finished racing at the IRA Regatta on Saturday, June 2 and finished fifth in both the Varsity 4 finals.

The grand final of the Varsity 4 without coxswain was run twice due to Harvard interfering with Hobart in the first run. The Crimson were disqualified and were not allowed to run in the second running of the race.

The Raiders’ V4- posted a time of 6:27.879 to finish fifth in the race. Navy had a first-place time of 6:18.138, followed by Hobart, Syracuse and Wisconsin.

Colgate’ Varsity 4 with coxswain clocked in at 6:36.664 to claim fifth place in the petite final. Crossing the line first was UMass with a time of 6:32.305. MIT, Puget Sound and Oregon State claimed second through fourth place. Boston University finished sixth. The finished determined the Raiders the 11th best boat in the nation.

Colgate will race at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia on June 16-17.
