Krista Moser (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) scored a career-high 21 points, including 19 second-half points, but it was not enough as the Raiders lost to Boston College 75-45 in women’s basketball action at Conte Forum. Moser hit 9-of-14 of her shots from the floor to lead all scorers in the contest.

Caitlin Gillard (Vestal, N.Y.) added 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while sophomore
Katie Garman (Poplar Grove, Ill.) led Colgate on the glass with seven rebounds. Rookie
Sami Kozlowski (New Market, Md.) pulled down a career-best six rebounds in her 32 minutes of action.
The story of the game was Boston College’s hot shooting. The Eagles hit 60.7 percent (34-of-56) of their shots from the floor and outscored Colgate 42-18 in the paint. The Raiders capitalized on second-chance points, getting 16 to Boston College’s 14 points
After trading baskets in the early going, Boston College broke open the contest with a 12-2 run for a 16-6 lead at the 13:10 mark of the first session. The Boston College defense continued to stifle the Colgate offense as it held the Raiders without a field goal for nine minutes. The Eagles took advantage with stellar shooting and built their advantage to 30-8 before Colgate responded with a 9-4 run. Gillard sparked that run with seven straight points in the run.
Boston College (10-3) shot a scorching 60 percent (18-of-30) in the first half, while the Raiders hit just 30 percent (6-of-20) of their chances.
The Eagles kicked off the second half with an 8-2 run for a 46-19 lead four minutes into the stanza. Colgate continued to battle and forced Boston College into turnovers on three consecutive possessions. Moser started to find her shot midway through the half as she scored 10 of the Raiders’ 12 points in a four minute span, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Eagles as they cruised to the 75-45 victory.
Boston College had four players in double figures with Carolyn Swords leading the way with 16 points. Mickel Picco added 14, while Ayla Brown and Brittany Johnson contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively. Brown hit the boards for the Eagles, pulling down a game-high nine rebounds. Jaclyn Thoman paced the offense with seven assists.
Colgate shot 34.7 percent (17-of-49) from the floor for the contest. Both teams struggled from behind the arc as they combined for just five three-pointers in the game. Boston College held a narrow advantage on the boards 31-28.
The Raiders continued their month-long road trip on Dec. 31 at St. Francis in Brooklyn, N.Y. That game is set for 2 p.m.
