Mosley Leads Dartmouth Over Colgate, 81-76

Kendall Chones scored a season-high 20 points for the Raiders
 
HAMILTON, N.Y. (11/24/07) – DeVon Mosley scored 21 points and Alex Barnett added 20 points to lead Dartmouth to an 81-76 non-conference win over Colgate Saturday afternoon at Cotterell Court.
 
The Big Green (2-3) snapped a two-game losing streak, while Colgate (4-2) dropped its second straight game.  Dartmouth had lost to the Raiders six straight times in the series.
 
Michael Giovacchini added 14 points including six of the last nine points from the free throw line for the Big Green.  Dartmouth shot 54 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range.  Kyle Roemer (Martinez, CA) had a career-high 26 points for Colgate, while Kendall Chones (Cleveland, OH) tallied 20 and Daniel Waddy (Tucson, AZ) had 15.
 
Colgate also shot well from the field making 55 percent of its shots and 43 percent from behind the arc.  The Raiders out-rebounded the Big Green 30-27 led by Waddy with six, while Barnett and Mosley had seven apiece for Dartmouth.
 
In the first half, there were three lead changes and seven ties before the teams settled for a 34-34 halftime tie.  In the second half, Colgate held an eight-point lead, 47-39, with 13:54, before Dartmouth staged a rally, tying the contest 52-52 with 11:53 remaining.
 
Colgate held a slim 63-62 lead with 4:42 left on Roemer’s jumper, but Dartmouth scored the next six points to take the lead for good.  Mosley had a pair of baskets and Brandon Ware added a basket in decisive run.
