Mountain Hawks Sneak by Men's Soccer, 1-0

Junior David Cappuccio made six saves in Colgate's 1-0 loss to Lehigh.
 
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (11/10/07) – Junior Jim Taranto scored with 4:01 remaining in regulation to lift Lehigh University to a 1-0 win over Colgate University in men’s soccer on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Ulrich Sports Complex.
 
Taranto knocked in a Kyle Evans rebound for the score at 85:59, giving the Raiders just their first loss in Patriot League play.
 
Colgate goalkeeper David Cappuccio (Pittsford, N.Y.) grabbed two more saves in the final minute of the game, for a total of six. Jonathan Nydell made four stops for Lehigh.
 
The Raiders outshot the Mountain Hawks 10-8 in the contest, including a 5-2 differential in the first half. Colgate also had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
 
Colgate falls to 8-5-4 overall and  4-1-2 in league play, while Lehigh ends its season 8-7-2 overall and 3-4 in the league.
 
As the No. 2 seed Colgate will play No. 3 seed Bucknell on Friday, Nov. 16 in the Patriot League semifinals at Holy Cross. No. 1 Holy Cross will face No. 4 Lafayette in the other semifinal. The winners will play in the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 18 with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Game times are yet to be determined.
