Salmon Scores in Colgate's 1-0 Shutout Over Army

Raiders remain the only team in the nation to have not allowed a goal this season.

Sophomore David Cappuccio recorded his fourth straight shutout making six saves against Army.
 
WEST POINT, N.Y. (9/16/06) – Freshman Chris Salmon (Auburn, Wash.) scored in the 38th minute to give the Colgate University men's soccer team a 1-0 win over Patriot League foe Army on Saturday, Sept. 16.
 
Sophomore Matt Leach (New Canaan, Conn.) sent a cross to Salmon from the left side and Salmon headed the ball from just eight yards out that blasted to the back of the net at 38:30.
 
It was Salmon’s second straight game-winning goal.
 
Sophomore David Cappuccio (Pittsford, N.Y.) earned his fourth consecutive shutout making six saves.  Cappuccio leads the nation in goals against average and save percentage.
 
A.J. Glubzinski made five stops for the Black Knights, who fall to 0-5-1 on the season.
 
The Raiders extended their win streak over the Black Knights to six and are now 4-0-2 on the season.  Colgate is the only team in the nation that has not allowed a goal this season, playing 580 minutes without being scored upon.
 
Colgate ranked No. 4 in the region, returns home on Saturday, September 23 when they host Patriot League opponent Lafayette at 7 p.m.
