HAMILTON, N.Y. (9/1/06) – The Colgate women’s soccer team will compete at the Villanova Soccer Tournament this weekend. The game against Robert Morris on Friday, Sept. 1 has been moved to 11 a.m., due to the impending weather. The Raiders will take on Hartford on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. The Villanova football stadium (turf) is also being prepared as a back-up.

The Colonials are 1-0 on the season with a 3-1 victory over Youngstown State on Friday, Aug. 25. Freshman Daneen Stevenato recorded four points in that game off of one goal and two assists. Senior Christina Pilato had three points and sophomore Jessica Weary added two. Junior Jessica Onufer is the Colonial’s go-to in net. She made six saves for an .857 save percentage.
Colgate and Hartford are meeting for the first time since 1997 and for the seventh time. The Hawks own a 4-1-1 record in the all-time series.
The Hawks are off to a .500 start this season. They defeated Albany 3-0 on Aug. 25, before falling 2-0 to La Salle on Aug. 27. Junior transfer Meagan Riemer leads Hartford in scoring with two goals and one assist for six points. Sophomore Kacey Busque has one goal while three other Hawks have one assist. Junior Liz Cook has started in net for both contests and has made nine saves and allowed two goals. She has an .818 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average.
