LOUDONVILLE, NY (5/3/06) – Siena hit three solo home runs in the sixth inning en route to a 6-4 non-conference softball win over Colgate Wednesday afternoon at Siena Field.
Colgate (17-23) had a four-game winning streak stopped by the Saints, who improved to 15-33.
The Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning with
Meg Mylan (Upper Montclair, NJ) scoring on
Jessi Bentovoja’s (El Dorado Hills, CA) RBI single through the left side of the infield.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Siena came back to tie the contest 1-1 on Jenny McNulty’s RBI single.
The Saints scored five times in the sixth inning getting solo home runs from Andrea Piela, Kelly Boyle and Jamie Piela, and a RBI single by Jessica Billow. Siena’s other run scored on a wild pitch.
Colgate would score three times in the seventh inning to deficit to 6-4.
LaPorscha Albert (Lewisville, TX) led off with a walk, and scored on
Ashley Rowe’s (Tampa, FL) double. The Raiders’ second run came home on a wild pitch, and then Mylan scored on a single by pinch hitter

Kate Howard (Wheaton, IL) started for the Raiders working five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits, only two earned runs, while walking none and striking out six.
Howard (14-11) becomes the third pitcher in school history to strikeout over 100 batters in a season. She has 102.
