Men's Track and Field Competes at Hamilton Mid-Week Meet

CLINTON, N.Y. (4/19/2006)—The Colgate University men’s track and field team competed in a tri-meet with Hamilton College and SUNY-Oswego on Tuesday, April 18 at Hamilton. No team scores were recorded in the meet.
 
Sophomore Andy Holway (Tallahassee, Fla.) earned the Raiders’ first victory of the say in the 400-meter dash with a winning time of 49.68. He also earned runner-up honors in the 200-dash, crossing the line in a season-best time of 22.95.
 
Senior Alex Fuller-Young (Phoenixville, Pa.) turned in perhaps the best performance of the afternoon, winning the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.61. The time ranks 10th-all time at Colgate and is his fastest of the season.  
 
In the 100-meter dash it was senior Dan Ellis (Pine Valley, N.Y.) leading the way for Colgate in second place with a time of 11.49. Ellis also competed in the 200-dash, finishing in a season-best 23.57.
 
Junior Charles Miller earned the fifth spot in the 800-meter run, dropping six seconds off his previous best time of the season with a time of 2:01.17.
 
In the field events, junior Sean Field took top honors in the hammer throw with a long toss of 42.22 meters.
 
The Raiders will split up this weekend as a handful of runners travel to the University of Oregon on April 21 and another group competes at Holy Cross on April 22.
