NIAGARA, N.Y. (10/6/06) – The Colgate University women’s ice hockey team fell 3-1 to Niagara its season opener at Dwyer Arena on Friday, Oct. 6. Freshman defender Alison Malty recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Purple Eagles to victory.

Just 24 seconds into the second frame, Charde Hoyle-Levy evened the scoring with a man-advantage goal. Teammate Ashley Riggs won a face-off in the Niagara offensive zone, and sent the puck to Hoyle-Levy, who sent a backhanded shot between the legs of Colgate’s
