HAMILTON, N.Y. (10/18/06) – Former Penn goalkeeper Karrie Moore has been hired as an assistant coach for Colgate’s women’s lacrosse team, head coach Heather Bliss announced on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
"Karrie is an outstanding addition to our coaching staff," Bliss said. "She comes from a great lacrosse background and was an excellent player. She will be working specifically with our goalies, and will bring great experience to that position."
Moore was a four-year letterwinner for the Quakers, and earned the starting job last season as a senior. She posted an 8-3 record between the pipes in 2006, including starting the campaign with three straight wins against Monmouth, Temple and Ohio State. Later in the season, she helped Penn to three straight victories against Columbia, Penn State and Harvard. Moore finished her final season with a 7.23 goals against average and .478 save percentage.
Moore’s coaching background includes four summers’ worth of camps, including coaching the goalies at the Penn Elite Lacrosse Camp and serving as the head goalie coach at the Mary Clare McFadden Lacrosse Camp and the All-Star Lacrosse Camp in Atlanta.
Moore graduated from Penn with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2006.
