Bucknell Rolls Over Colgate 62-43

Kyle Roemer scored 11 points against Bucknell giving him 500 points in his career.
 
 
Bucknell (14-3, PL 5-0) wins its fifth straight game to remain in a first place tie with Lehigh in the Patriot League standings.  Colgate (7-12, PL 1-4) goes down to its fourth straight loss heading into Wednesday night’s game at Holy Cross.
 
Kyle Roemer scored 11 points for the Raiders, including his 500th career point, and Alvin Reed also tallied 11 points.
 
Bucknell held a 33-23 advantage on the boards led by Charlie Lee with nine caroms.  Marc Daniels was Colgate’s top rebounder with four.
 
The Bison shot 52.2 percent from the field, while Colgate managed only 34 percent.
 
Colgate jumped out to a 4-2 lead before extending its advantage to five points, 13-8, with 8:49 left.  After trading buckets, Bucknell’s offense came alive with 12 straight points for a seven-point lead, 22-15.  Lee with four points and Abe Badmus with three key the decisive Bucknell run.
 
The Raiders managed to cut into the deficit trailing by two points, 24-22, with 1:47 left, before Bucknell scored the final four points for a 28-22 halftime lead.
 
In the second half, Bucknell quickly jumped out to a nine-point on Lee’s 3-pointer, but Colgate came back to within four points, 39-35, with 10:17 left.  The Bison answered the challenge with 15 straight points over the next four minutes to take control of the contest.
