Men’s Soccer Defeats Fordham, 1-0

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (09/04/05) – The Colgate University men’s soccer team defeated Fordham University, 1-0, in the second day of competition at the Bronc Fall Classic held on the campus of Rider University.

Junior Devin Deane (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) scored the lone goal and game-winning goal for the Raiders. Kevin Toomey (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) was credited with the assist as he sent a long ball up the field to Deane who flicked it up over the keeper.

Colgate’s keeper Doug Litvack (Levittown, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) picked up his first win of the season and second straight shutout, making three saves against the Rams. Fordham’s Justin Burse made one stop and allowed one goal.

The Raiders are back in action on Saturday, September 10 when they travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Cornell at 7 p.m.
