Hamilton , N.Y. - The Colgate women's hockey team announced the signing of seven athletes for the class of 2009. The Raiders will try to make up for the loss of eight seniors from the 2004-05 squad that finished with a 16-15-4 overall record.

"I am extremely pleased with the incoming class. Our staff did an outstanding job recruiting very talented players to our program. We have added depth in all positions and I have no doubt that they will compliment our returning players and contribute right away," head coach Scott Wiley said.

“Our incoming forwards will add some scoring ability and creativity with the puck. Our new blue-liners will give us a greater physical presence and an ability to handle the puck under pressure. Our goaltender should battle for playing time as well. The entire incoming class has played at a very high level which should make their transition to the Division I level easier.”

The Raiders will bring in three forwards, three defenders and one goaltender.

- six goals, 23 assists for 29 points in 66 games in 2004-05
- assistant captain for the Stoney Creek Junior Sabres
- member of Team Ontario that won the gold medal in the Canadian U-18 challenge

Lisa Dodd, Forward, 5-5, Right
Baldwinsville, New York 
- 21 goals, 26 assists for 47 points in 64 games in 2004-05
- a member of the Syracuse Stars U-19 team that finished second in the nation in 2004-05
- played ten season for the Stars and was a teammate of Ruth Fish

Ruth Fish, Forward, 5-6, Right
DeWitt, New York 
- 40 goals, 20 assists for 60 points in 67 games in 2004-05
- a member of the Syracuse Stars U-19 team that finished second in the nation in 2004-05
- was the teams leading scorer at the national tournament

Sam Hunt, Forward, 5-9, Left
Calgary, Alberta 
- 78 goals, 48 assists for 126 points in 58 games in 2004-05
- was the captain for the Bowness Bruins and a teammate of Elin Brown
- named the Women at Centre Ice Most Promising "AA" Midget Player in 2004-05
- member of Team Alberta for the 2004-05 U-18 National Championships

Elayna Hamashuk, Goalie, 6-1, Left
Nepean, Ontario 
- recorded a 2.51 goals against average in 40 games in 2004-05
- played three seasons for the Northwood School
- previously a member of the Rideau St. Lawrence Thunder
