Hamilton, N.Y. - Head volleyball coach Jenna Panatier recently announced the addition of Lindsey Zerr to the coaching staff. Zerr will join the Raiders for the 2004 season before leaving the country to play volleyball overseas in the spring.
Zerr played Division I volleyball at UMKC and received all-conference honors in 2001 and 2003. Also a strong academic program, the Roos received the AVCA Molten Team Academic Award for three straight seasons during Zerr’s career.
The powerful outside hitter served as team captain for three years and was tabbed the team’s MVP her sophomore and senior seasons. In 2001, Zerr participated in try-outs for the United States National Team and made the semi-final cuts.
Zerr gained coaching experience as an assistant for the 18 and under OZ volleyball club in Kansas City, Mo. The team was tabbed number one in the Heart of America Region and appeared in the national rankings. Five of the team’s seniors went on to earn college volleyball scholarships.
Zerr also spent one year as an assistant coach for the Team KC volleyball club at the 14 and under level after serving a year as head coach at the 13 and under level. She also has extensive experience as a camp instructor at several clincics in Missouri, Kansas, and Ohio.
She received an Arts and Science degree in Criminal Justice from UMKC in 2004. In the summer of 2003 she mentored juvenile girls at the Hill Top Juvenile Correction facility in Lees Summit, Mo.
The Raiders open the 2004 campaign in Fairbanks, Alaska at a tournament hosted by the University of Alaska at Fairbanks on Sept. 3-4.
