DeRoo was the recipient of the Colgate Female Athlete of the Year Award.  DeRoo the Patriot League Track Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned first-team honors during the indoor season after winning two individual titles in the 5,000-and 3,000-meter runs. DeRoo was also named the Patriot League Female Runner of the Year after winning the cross-country title at the 2009 Patriot League Championships.
