Rookie Lauren Hyland won both of her matches to help propel Colgate to a 6-1 victory over Holy Cross in its Patriot League opener on March 19.
 
In doubles, Hyland teamed up with Jennifer Ho to defeat the Crusaders Jaclyn Carroll and Abby Henry at No. 1 doubles, 7-5.
 
Singles competition saw the Grennwich, Conn., product defeat Carroll at No. 1 singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
