Sherman-Newsome had a strong week for the Raiders, who nearly started conference play with a 4-0 record. He went for a career-best 30 points against Holy Cross to help Colgate stay unbeaten in the league for their first 3-0 start since the 1998-99 season. His 11 buckets overall and six from long in that were also career-highs. Then on Saturday he didn't have his best shooting night of the year but still managed to grab double-figures with 13 points in the game. In a game that went back-and-forth Sherman-Newsome added some clutch free throws down the stretch to keep the Raiders in the game.
