HAMILTON – To finish the regular season, the Colgate men's tennis team had a stellar performance against Lafayette as the Raiders defeated the Leopards 7-0.
Prior to the match starting, the men's team honored its three senior captains:
Jack Ablon,
Francis Scott Bickel and
Tyler Krantz.
Colgate won the third doubles match by default, giving the Raiders the early 1-0 lead in doubles play. At No. 1 doubles, Bickel and sophomore
Jack Selati won 6-0 and the duo of juniors
Nick Potter and
Rohan Gupta won their set 6-4.
In singles, Bickel had a dominating performance as he won in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Also recording a great win was Gupta at No. 3 singles as he won 6-0, 6-1.
Selati won his match 6-2, 6-3 and Krantz played at No. 4 singles and won 6-2, 6-2. Colgate won both fifth and sixth singles by default.
With the win, Colgate improves its overall record to 3-5 and its Patriot League record to 3-2.

On the men's match against Lafayette, head coach Bobby Pennington said, "Lights out performance and grand finale for the boys tonight. We celebrated the careers of Bickel, Ablon and Krantz. The guys came out lights out in doubles sweeping and carried it through in singles with all matches in straight sets. We now prepare for revenge at the league tournament, and we'll be ready."
