FROM THE SOURCE
On the men's performance, head coach
Bobby Pennington said, "Tonight was an unbelievably competitive, nail-biting, high quality tennis match from start to finish. Anytime you are in a 4-3 match it is the equivalent of overtime in sports. If you win, it is exhilarating and if you lose, you lose a lot of sleep.
"Our men improved an insane amount in eight days against an elite team. We played lights out and outplayed Quinnipiac at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. In singles, credit to Bickel and Romig for winning in straight sets. Selati and Ablon put us in a position to win 5-2 after they both won their first sets, yet both fell eventually in third set heartbreakers. Although I'm upset and disappointed with the final result, I'm proud of our heart and fight. Now, we turn our attention to our five league matches starting with Boston U. on Sunday."
