HAMILTON – Colgate scored the first six goals of the game to take control early and never look back as it cruised to a 12-6 victory over Siena Saturday at Tyler's Field.
Despite playing under snowy and chilly conditions, the Raiders came out red hot, notching the first six goals of the contest on their way to building a commanding 7-1 lead at the break.
Colgate tallied the first two goals of the second half to take its largest lead of the game, 9-1, before Siena responded with three of the next four goals to trim the Raider margin to 10-4 midway through the final frame.
The Saints would get no closer, however, as the two sides traded goals the rest of the way to give Colgate its first victory of the season.
