Perry Rockafellow was Colgate’s tennis coach for 31 years (1933, 1935-65). During his coaching career, his squads posted a phenomenal 131 wins and 48 losses for a winning percentage of .774. As an undergraduate, Rockafellow was the Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis singles champion in 1924. After graduation, along with Bill Aydelotte, he won the national indoor doubles crown in 1928 and two years later he teamed with Merritt Cutler to repeat the trick. In 1933 Rockafellow became a professional tennis player. At the age of 71, he won the National Senior Tennis championship and in 1976 and 1977 he won the National Senior Grass Court Doubles championships in the 75 age bracket.
