Don Irwin was a standout running back for three years for the Red Raiders. During his three years, Colgate had a 20-5-1 record. He was chosen the outstanding player in the 1935 East-West Shrine game. Irwin went on to play five seasons of professional football with the Washington Redskins, including the World Champion squads of 1936 and 1937.
