Charles Pankow is the only three-time All-America swimmer in Colgate history. He captured the honors during the 1934-36 seasons. An outstanding backstroker, he held several freshman and varsity records during his career. Pankow placed third at the 1936 NCAA championships in the 150-yard backstroke. He also placed second in the 150- yard backstroke during the 1935 and 1936 Eastern championships. He was captain of the 1935 swim team.
