HAMILTON, N.Y. (8/25/10) - The Colgate football team has been ranked 22nd in the nation in the 2010 FCS Coaches preseason poll. The Raiders were previously ranked 22nd in the Sports Network/Fathead.com preseason poll, which was released last week.

Colgate received 98 total points in the poll to rank 22nd, while Holy Cross (25th) was the only other Patriot League team ranked in the poll. Furman, the Raiders second opponent of the season received 36 votes, while a pair of other opponents received votes Lehigh (8) and Lafayette (4).

The Raiders open their season against Monmouth on September 4. Season tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling the Colgate Athletic Ticket Office at (315) 228-7600 or by going online to the Colgate Athletic website at www.gocolgateraiders.com.
